Founded by two recruiters with complementary backgrounds from international and in-house experience to long-standing success in the UK Practice market Portland was born out of a genuine passion for the space.

Why Portland?
Portland Partnership was founded with a simple idea: to do recruitment differently with real care, focus, and consultancy at its heart.

We’ve spent years working in the Practice market, and we’ve always loved it. But we wanted more time to build proper relationships, to work with purpose, and to deliver advice that actually means something to both candidates and clients.

So, we started Portland.
The name began in some form as a joke (turns out all our clients who helped us land in the market were on various streets starting with Portland), but it stuck: because what really matters to us is the Partnership. Between firms and people. Between career decisions and timing. And between the two of us building something we truly believe in.
